Compliance Training Group Launches Interactive eLearning for Employers

Downey, California (PRWEB) April 25, 2009 — Unique from any other training forum, Compliance Training Group’s eLearning promises to provide an interactive experience that accommodates three distinct learning modalities.

Compliance Training Group announces the launch of a dynamic eLearning solution that will enhance the way employees process information to memory. Compliance Training Group’s eLearning course materials offer learners the ability to reinforce their own specific learning modality to memory by offering enhanced visual, auditory and superior kinesthetic forms of learning at one time.

Understanding the three different learning modalities is essential in developing and implementing an effective training course:

Visual — Learning by seeing; the visual cortex of the brain is larger than all of the other sensory cortexes of the brain collectively. Today’s generation-X learners have grown up in a media-based culture. The use of visual images is a large part of Compliance Training Group’s teaching practice.

Auditory — Learning by hearing; the proper use of a lecture is to engage learners with information they cannot read on their own, such as a visually-impaired employee. Compliance Training Group’s courses can be played through computer speakers or over a headset.

Kinesthetic/Tactile — Learning by doing; learning through firsthand experience or touching is the best possible way for many learners to be trained, as it often allows them to use all of their sensory processes to take in information. Interactive games and quizzes that reinforce previously explored content are a part of all Compliance Training Group’s eLearning course materials.

Successful eLearning programs require a combination of industry-specific software and instructional design. A major part of eLearning is the use of a Learning Management System (LMS), which is the software used for the delivery, tracking and management of the training module. In addition, a successful eLearning platform includes the implementation of a Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM), which is a collection of standards and specifications for web-based eLearning. SCORM exchanges information between the content on the consumer-side and the run-time environment (normally called the host system), which is a common function of LMS. SCORM also defines how content may be packaged into a transferable ZIP file for distribution. Lastly, an Instructional Designer with expert-level experience relating to the module’s subject matter develops instructional tools and content to help facilitate stimulating and interactive learning.

The new online training platform was specifically designed to help employers control costs while remaining in compliance with either their own organization’s regulations or State and Federal requirements (in some cases both), especially regarding state-mandated sexual harassment training. With the U.S. in a recession, it’s imperative that employers discover alternative ways to cut costs without sacrificing quality. In-person workplace training can be almost twice as expensive as Compliance Training Group’s online training, which is why we launched our new eLearning platform.

Training can be developed into a simple one-hour session, such as “general harassment in the workplace” or as comprehensive as California’s sexual harassment training course, which is legally compliant for online training with California Assembly Bill 1825.

Connecticut [Connecticut Agency Regulation § 46a-54-204(c)(1) and ((2)] and Maine [Section 4572 of the Maine Human Rights Act] have similar standards, but the majority of U.S. states only require sexual harassment training to be completed by state employees or “encourage” companies to train employees.

Employee training is the key to reducing employer liability. “Based on Equal Employment Opportunity Commission statistics, from 1998 to 2008, sexual harassment claims have cost U.S. corporations over $47 million. Recurring workplace training is the only solution to minimizing this controllable employer liability,” said James F.
