CURRICULUM VITAE
Alex Castaneda attended California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, California, graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice and Corrections. Mr. Castaneda then went on to attend Alliant International University in Los Angeles, where he received a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Psychology in 2004. In 2006, Mr. Castaneda graduated from the University of La Verne in La Verne, California, receiving a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Management and Leadership.
In addition to his numerous degrees, Mr. Castaneda has worked to establish himself as a Human Resources expert by pursuing a Human Resources special certification. Mr. Castaneda currently holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Society for Human Resources Management. He is also currently affiliated with the American Society for Training and Development.
PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
In addition to his academic and professional accomplishments, Mr. Castaneda has extensive experience in the Human Resources field, having worked as Human Resources Manager and Trainer. Mr. Castaneda was previously employed as a bilingual specialist in Human Resources Management while working under the direction and supervision of Deputy Sheriff and Licensed Mediator, Jim Potts of Potts & Associates. There, he represented hundreds of companies in legal and administrative proceedings before the California State Unemployment Appeals Board (CAUIB), Department of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE), and discrimination cases involving California’s Department of Fair Employment & Housing (DFEH) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). This exposure has provided Mr. Castaneda with invaluable firsthand experience in dealing with common employment-related issues and legal responsibilities that employers are faced with.
While at Potts & Associates, Mr. Castaneda also served as a Corporate Trainer helping employers meet regulatory compliance requirements of California’s AB 1825 and develop their workforce skill-set in areas of performance management, diversity awareness, and violence in the workplace.
Mr. Castaneda’s most recent experience was working as a Director of Human Resources for a prominent janitorial company. There, he worked closely with hundreds of employees and managers to effectively develop safety practices and train all employees on workplace safety practices and procedures.
This wealth of experience makes Alex an ideal candidate to manage Corporate Training Services.
