Stephen Schuit attended Boston University’s School of Education, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. At Texas Tech University’s School of Education, he received a Master of Education degree in counseling. Additionally, Steve earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Boston University in Organizational Leadership.
PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
Mr. Schuit is an experienced, knowledgeable and results-oriented human resource professional. He has developed strong human resource-line partnerships, helped resolve diverse operational issues and implemented superior programs, services and initiatives.
Steve has proven to be highly effective in building trust and working with diverse populations. He brings expertise in training and development, coaching employees, performance management and organizational development.
Steve is highly focused on adhering to organizational mission and philosophy while having a positive impact on the bottom line and daily performance.
Steve has over 25 years of experience as a human resource professional in the areas of training and development, human resource management and consulting. He served as VP of Human Resources with Fleet Bank and was Tom’s of Maine’s first human resource manager.
At Digital Equipment Corporation, formerly Compaq, now HP, he trained thousands of managers and supervisors in Digital’s sales, field service, manufacturing and engineering businesses.
Steve’s recent business assignments have taken him to Singapore, Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea, Ireland, Scotland, France, The Netherlands, Israel and the Middle East. He has also worked in Silicon Valley and Austin, TX and has worked extensively for clients in New England ranging from large corporations to small not-for-profit organizations. He has served as board president of Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility.
Steve enjoys working as a facilitator at the international peace camp, “Seeds of Peace” in Otisfield, Maine. He serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Southern Maine School of Business and currently is on the board of Boys to Men in Portland, Maine.
Mr. Schuit offers dynamic communication skills, strong organizational and management skills and has an extensive background working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
